So anyways, I have had the flu. I have been feeling run down and generally tired but soldiering on as we mums do. After not being able to shake it and starting to feel way beyond ordinary I decided a trip to the doctor was in order. Nothing to worry about but I am extremely run down. I’m basically a fuel tank running on that smell of fuel just before you run out and end up broken down on the side of the road. Now the lovely Tracie and I started this blog to travel together and encourage one another to become positive role models for our girls and get ourselves and them healthy. I have been concentrating on this with my girl, but I on the other hand tend to slip back into bad habits. Especially when not in a relatively normal routine. We have been busy. Away from home quite a bit, school things, family things. The usual stuff we can all relate to. All these things + long hours at work = exhausted Cathie. So during all of this I did still manage to take some pretty piccies and get out and about. Not exactly exercising as such, but out and about and doing ‘stuff’.
Now, where do I start… Back in March. Yep, it’s been that long. Oh, and I apologise as this blog should be about us girls, but there may be a few notable others in there too as we haven’t had too much girl time lately.
Okay, so firstly we went down to the lakes so the hubby and Jayden could play with his (hubby’s) toy. He got a new remote control boat thingy. Jess and I walked and played with pooches and looked at birds and of course – took photos.
Then on the 6th April, my baby boy turned 14 (Eeeeek!). We went to Kingpin which is where you can play arcade games, play laser skirmish and bowling. We did have fun.
We went on an awesome photo scavenger hunt so we could sight-see the beautiful new Jezzine Army Barracks which have built to commemorate the Jezzine/Kissing Point post which was a pivotal lookout and ammunitions post during the war. It’s a beautiful place to go for a walk. It was a long walk so this one counts as exercise AND fun. List courtesy of Jess. (she had some interesting things to find)
We had our Anzac Day commemorations where Jessica sang with her school choir at their annual parade and my gorgeous niece Lexi marched in her first parade as an Army cadet.
We were visited by another Cyclone. Cyclone Ita. It was huge and meant to cause a lot of damage to the North of us, but lost a bit of its punch when it first crossed the coast. We had a lot of rain and wind and our shade sail that covers our cars blew down denting Chris’s 4WD but we were all safe. A little scary though.
And lastly I took some beautiful photos of my 2 and my beautiful nieces last weekend, but I will only share one. We are going camping at this site again this weekend so I will no doubt have plenty of photos of creeks, kids, trees etc to share.
Thanks for checking in and I hope to have some more mother and daughter related posts with my girl and I and our healthy ventures soon.
Bye for now, the girls from Oz.
